On behalf of Tavern Motor Club, Bristol, and the Royal Air Force Motor Sports Association, may I welcome you to the FAT ALBERT STAGES 2009 website. The 2008 event was voted best Tarmac rally in the ACSMC Rally Championship which we are very proud of and look to repeat in 2009
As always, we’ve listened to our customers, the competitors, on what was good and maybe not so good. As a result there may be a few minor tweaks to the event but the overall format and general friendly atmosphere of previous years will remain unchanged. Additionally there have been a few changes in the roles of our event officials but you can be sure that once again our established and experienced Organising Team will be working hard to provide another top quality Event in 2009.
Tavern Motor Club will be working alongside the Royal Air Force Motor Sports Association to bring you 10 Stages, each with some 7 Miles of highly competitive action. Again the event uses the MOD facilities at Keevil Airfield, just outside Trowbridge, in Wiltshire.
The Stages will feature the fast and flowing open sections of Runway and Perimeter Roads, and also the very tight and narrow, but well loved ‘nadgery bit’, plus a challenging hairpin (known commonly as ‘Dingly Dell), to give both the smaller engine’d competitors and the bigger boys some good fun!
Being the only Stage rally to use this venue, we anticipate that the Entry List allocation will fill up quickly, and I therefore urge you to complete and post your Entry Form at the earliest opportunity. Please help us to help you, the more information you provide on your Entry Form regarding your previous performance, the more likely we are to be able to seed you appropriately.
Events like the FAT ALBERT STAGES are very dependant on experienced Marshals to ensure the efficient and safe running of the event, so if you aren’t competing please come and join us on this non-spectator event.
Finally I look forward to meeting you on the 25th July for what I’m sure will be 70 miles of exciting rallying, in a very full, well-organised day. We hope the FAT ALBERT atmosphere will again be a friendly and enjoyable day out for you and your team.
