On behalf of Tavern Motor Club, Bristol and the Royal Air Force Motor Sports Association may I welcome you to the regulations for THE FAT ALBERT STAGES 2011, which takes place on Saturday 29th October.
Tavern Motor Club will be working alongside the Royal Air Force Motor Sports Association to bring you 8 Stages, each with approximately 10 Miles of highly competitive action. Again the event uses the MOD facilities at Keevil Airfield, just outside Trowbridge, in Wiltshire.
The stages have a few changes from previous years, increasing the mileage, but will continue to feature the fast and flowing open sections of runway and perimeter roads as well as several runs through the very tight and narrow but well loved ‘nadgery bit’, plus the challenging hairpin, known commonly as ‘Dingly Dell’, to interest all types of cars and competitors.
Why FAT ALBERT? Well, this is the nick-name of the RAF C130 Hercules Transport Aircraft that still uses Keevil as an operational airfield today. Keevil is set in a beautiful rural location in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside; can I request that you assist us in remaining friends with the locals by complying with our reasonable requests and regulations to avoid inconvenience to them.
Being the only stage rally to use this venue, we anticipate that the entry list allocation will fill up quickly, and I therefore urge you to complete and post your entry form at the earliest opportunity. Please help us to help you, the more information you provide on your entry form regarding your previous performance, the more likely we are to be able to seed you appropriately.
Finally we are very pleased to announce that for the 5th year in a row we have been able to keep the entry fee at £190 which we believe is considerable value for money.
Watch out for news on our website - we look forward to meeting you.
